  • Time off for family emergencies

Children get ill, arrangements break down, it's all part of family life. You can't deal with everything from work, so sometimes you just have to get out of there. What are your rights when you have to take time off work to deal with a family emergency?

  • Flexible working

If you're a father with a child under six years old, you have a right to request flexible work and to have your request taken seriously by your employer. This right could be the key to you changing your working pattern to fit in more time with your children. We provide the details.

  • Special circumstances: adoption, surrogacy and disabled children

If you are adopting, having a baby through a surrogacy agreement or have a disabled child, there are a few special rules you should know about.

  • What to do if your rights are denied

Most employers respect the law. But if your employer does flout your rights you can do something about it - they are legal rights, after all. We give you the low-down on what to do if your boss isn't respecting the law.
