Ziggy Opoczynska

Ziggy is the former Deputy Editor of National Geographic Kids magazine and an experienced freelance writer and editor based in London. Specialising in the children’s and parenting market, Ziggy has also worked across a wide range of publications –from health and lifestyle, to gaming and business titles.

Having travelled all over the world, Ziggy hung up her trekking boots when she became a mum three years ago, and has since settled into a home bod –in that if she’s not doing up character (aka dilapidated) houses, she’s constantly inventing new ways to keep a toddler entertained with nothing more than an egg cup and a loo roll (book coming out soon!). Ziggy lives with her other half in north London (in still dilapidated house), and has one thoroughly entertained three-year-old daughter.

James Draven

Travel Editor-at-Large & Days Out Editor

James is a freelance editor, consultant, journalist, and travel obsessive, who has crisscrossed the globe: extensively so across Australia, Asia, North America, and Europe. He’s extremely partial to long road trips, bats and burritos. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mexico is (probably) his favourite country.

When he’s not otherwise engaged grinding gears, worrying wildlife or topping tortillas, he occasionally finds time to write for publications such as National Geographic Traveller, The Telegraph, City AM, Spear's, The Sun's Fabulous magazine, Grazia, Clash, and his own website dearlydepartures.com, among several others.

With a decade of experience in both print and online media, James has also been an editor for all of the major web portals: Yahoo!, AOL, and MSN, working for the latter as an editor and travel writer for five years.

He doesn't usually talk about himself in the third person.

Guy Adams

Guy worked as an actor and comedian for ten years before deciding it was time to settle down into a sensible, secure career. Then he decided to be a writer instead. He is the author of far too many books. Including: spy-fi series The Clown Service (Del Rey UK); weird western trilogy, Heaven’s Gate (Solaris) and the strange crime/fantasy hybrid that is the Deadbeat series (Titan Books). He’s written new adventures for Sherlock Holmes, adapted old Hammer movies and somehow wrote a biography of Leonard Rossiter.

He also writes comics, predominately for 2000 AD but is also the co-creator of Goldtiger with artist Jimmy Broxton.

He lives in Spain with his partner and their two grown-up boys. Joe is a songwriter and musician, Dan is a chef. Every night can be a cabaret dinner in his house, soon Guy will be happily fat and deaf.
