Doting dad Chris Froome celebrated winning this year’s Tour de France by planting a kiss on his wife and baby son
The Brit won his third Tour title, with the support of Welsh cyclists Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe over three weeks of racing.
Speaking before his son Kellan was born, the 31-year-old said “I’m expecting a baby towards the end of the year and I think personally that’s put me in a very good place.
“I’ve been here, I’ve done this now a few times, I’m getting into the routine.”
And it looks like the routine did not suffer as a result of sleepless nights, as Froome became only the eighth cyclist in history to win the prestigious event three times, with Sir Bradley Wiggins the only other Briton to ever claim the title.
He’s not the only sportsman dad juggling work and family at the moment either.
Sailor Sir Ben Ainslie and his wife Georgie welcomed a baby girl, Bellatrix, into the world last week.
But Ben was off sailing just days later at the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series in Portsmouth at the weekend.
Luckily for him though, he won’t be competing again until September after retiring from Olympic sailing back in 2012, so he will have plenty of time to get to know the new arrival.
Ben and Georgie first announced they were expecting a baby back in March with Ben saying he “could not have asked for a better start to what promises to be a hugely enjoyable year!”
