Fathers 4 Justice

mattz118

mattz118

A controversial civil rights group founded in 2002 by Matt O’Connor. After a traumatic divorce he struggled to see his two sons and decided that the family courts were biased against fathers.

He launched a high-profile campaign to change the law on how family courts deal with fathers’ contact with their children after they have separated from the mother of their child. The group became famous for stunts by dads dressed as Batman and Spiderman, like powder-bombing Tony Blair in the House of Commons and climbing Buckingham Palace.

Fathers 4 Justice is currently campaigning for a Bill of Rights for the Family, which encourages mediation and shared parenting.

What can it do for me?

Fathers 4 Justice doesn’t have support services for dads – it is a campaign group whose membership is focussed on its campaigns.
