Grey hairs and birthday cake

I have attributed the onset of my grey hairs to the 36 hours I spent locked in the maternity unit back in 2004. 36 hours is a heck of a long time but when Jasper slipped (not sure my wife would use that word!) into the world at some ungodly hour in the morning it made everything worthwhile.

I distinctly remember Philbe and I bringing our sleeping bundle of joy back home for the first time and flopping on to the sofa thinking what the heck do we do now? We were clueless and a tad overwhelmed by the responsibility that lay head. However I am pleased to say that Jasper survived our early years parenting and this coming Saturday our little chap turns 7. I appreciate on the world stage that Pippa Middleton’s bum and the death of Osama Bin Laden take great presence but in my world this is the most incredible piece of news since JJ learnt to ride a bike a few weeks ago. It trumps the loss last weeks of 2 baby teeth and overshadows any other family news by miles.

As Jasper celebrates with a Super Mario party Philbe and I will be celebrating the amazing little lad that we have raised. He’s funny, friendly, talkative, (ok too talkative at times!) He embraces life, loves adventure and we are proud of the job we have done so far.

As for the grey hairs, I actually quite like the new pepper look. Me and Philip Schofield have it all going on!
