Schools out for summer aka I know what we’re going to do today!

There’s 104 days of summer vacation
And school comes along just to end it
So the annual problem for our generation
Is finding a good way to spend it……..

For the uneducated these are from the opening titles to the boys and my favourite TV show, Disney’s Phineas and Ferb Cartoon. If you still haven’t got a clue what I’m talking about here’s a link.

Why am I prattling on about a kids cartoon?

Simply because school ended last Friday and the shouts of I’m bored are already resounding around our house but I have a cunning plan!

My plan Gents is this…… We are going to recreate the title ideas of Phineas and Ferb!!! Yes call me crazy but I’m going to introduce Phineas and Ferb days into our summer. The plan is that on days when we don’t have much going on I will set the boys a P&F Challenge in that they have to recreate a P&F adventure…. like maybe

Building a rocket
Or fighting a mummy
Or climbing up the Eiffel Tower

Discovering something that doesn’t exist
Or giving a monkey a shower
Surfing tidal waves
Creating nanobots
Or locating Frankenstein’s brain

Finding a dodo bird
Painting a continent
Or driving your sister insane

Ok maybe not all these because let’s face it they don’t have a sister but there will be things they can do like create a mummy with their cuddly toys and some from cheap loo rolls or create something that doesn’t exist from our recycle bin.

My plan is to add to these suggestion with other things they can do like make a title sequence on something like Windows Movie or a photos montage of an adventure on Animoto.com

My biggest idea is then on the weekend and during our family holiday fortnight to join them and have a BIG P&F ADVENTURE DAY where as a family we undertake to re-enact the P&F cartoon of their choice (they will cruise through YouTube to find one during the week and then over brekkie on the Saturday get me to watch it with them and then BINGO I have to make it happen to the best of my ability!!)

So I’m sorted, this summer I have a plan!!

As you can see
There’s a whole lot of stuff to do
Before school starts this fall

So stick with us ’cause Phineas and Ferb (and DadTalk)
Are gonna do it all
So stick with us ’cause Phineas and Ferb are
Gonna do it all!
(Mom! Jasper and Harvey are making a title sequence! )
