Technology never stands still. We’re just gettingused to the idea of autonomous cars, but it’s already 11 years since the Lexus LS460 took the first steps towards robotic motoring by including automatic parking on the equipment list.

Renault judged the mood of the optimistic early 80s perfectly by being the first to fit a car with a talking digital dashboard, an option sadly lacking from today’s cars, but an infographic from Halfords highlights exactly how far we’ve travelled along the technology highway.
