Sir Ranulph Fiennes to headline new outdoor leisure show

The world’s greatest living explorer announced as keynote speaker at The Big Outdoor Show in Milton Keynes

Sir Ranulph Fiennes will reflect on a lifetime of expeditions at the inaugural Big Outdoor Show being held at Willen Lake, Milton Keynes on 23-25 May 2015.

The tireless adventurer headlines a series of seminars that form part of a line-up of adventure pursuits and entertainment celebrating the great outdoors. Other exploration speakers will include Felicity Aston, Mark Wood, Richard Harpham, John Sullivan and Alex Jackson

The new three-day show is expected to make Milton Keynes the family go-to destination over Whitsun weekend, and visitors will be able to watch daring displays such as water rescue by Newfoundland dogs and extreme mountain biking stunts from the Action Sports Tour, plus many other shows. Attendees can also browse the very many exhibitors located around the site to buy anything from outdoor clothing to camper vans.

Show organiser Pauline Gibson of Freesports Events says: “The Big Outdoor Show will be a unique event. We want to encourage not just outdoor enthusiasts but also families to get outside and learn about, or participate in, diverse outdoor activities. Visitors can either camp for the whole weekend or just come for the day. There’s loads of fabulous entertainment planned, including live music and open-air cinema, and food and drink to suit all tastes.”

A further Big Outdoor Show will be held later in the year in September 2015 at the National Watersports Centre in Nottingham.

The Willen lakeside venue is easily accessed from junction 14 of the M1. The venue is also well connected by train links to Milton Keynes from London and the south east, and Birmingham and the north.

Weekend camping pass tickets cost £149.50 per person. Day tickets can also be purchased at £9.50 for adults, and £3.50 for children aged eight and over (under eights go free). For more information, visit: or call 01908 698833
