Calling all superhero fans: a host of new movies are planned for 2015 and beyond…
Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 is already in pre-production and that’s just one of the myriad superhero projects prepping for release over the next few years.
In fact, there are 33 comic book hero properties scheduled until 2020, including Justice League 2 in 2019 and a new Green Lantern in 2020. But will you be going to see them all?
That’s what the studios are banking on, but it’ll be interesting to see if audience fatigue comes into play and whether that will affect these plans. After all, these kinds of movies cost big money and while they’re about as close to a slam-dunk Hollywood gets these days, no-one knows if increasing the amount to this level will mean bonanza or bomb.
What happens if the first Justice League isn’t a mega-smash (which is the only way the movies will make a profit)? Will they still progress with the sequel, as well as the Cyborg solo project?
Time will tell, but those of you who don’t like superheroes, prepare to search harder for your Friday night movie from 2015 onwards.
