The X Files returns! But how much do you care?

Earlier this week, it was confirmed The X Files will return to our TV screens, with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson both excitedly praising the decision to bring the biggest show of their careers back…


The pair confirmed they will reprise their roles as Mulder and Scully on Twitter with David telling his followers, ‘Excited to work with Gillian and Chris again’.

While Gillian got far more into the spirit with, ‘Mulder, it’s me. Are you ready?’

Talking about the show’s return, creator Chris Carter explained, ‘I think of it as a 13-year commercial break. The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.’

You’ll probably remember the original series ran for a mighty nine years from September 1993. It was such a huge success that two films were also released – perhaps not as successful, but the die-hard fans (of which there were many) loved them. The new series will consist of just six episodes which the cast will begin filming in the summer.

But what we want to know is, will you be tuning in to see Mulder and Scully get back to doing what they do best. Or are you actually a little over the whole Mulder-Scully-alien thing? And if you will be watching, do you want to see Fox and Dana finally get it together? Can we even take any more sexual tension after that last series?

We reckon it’s worth a night in for old times’ sake. Let’s face it – ‘90s nostalgia has been our friend so far.
