Adventure holidays… for your teenagers

Tour company launches new family programme for 2015, with an emphasis on adventures for your teens

G Adventures has announced a brand new line-up of age-appropriate activities specifically designed for teenagers in Costa Rica, Morocco, Peru and Vietnam.

All of these family trips are designed to deliver a mix of adventure and education and the new teen-focused journeys (for ages 12 and above) were developed using feedback from travellers.

Alistair Butchers, innovations manager at G Adventures, says travelling is a great way to open children and teenagers’ minds to the wonders of the world.

“New experiences lead to new interests and exposure to different cultures, languages and environments helps kids become responsible, well-rounded adults. What these new trips do is combine the best of our regular trips while ensuring families travel with similar, like-minded families,” says Butchers.

All family adventures are two weeks or less in duration and planned around school holidays. Group sizes are no larger than 20 travellers with an average of around 12. Each trip is led by a skilled Chief Experience Officer (CEO) who makes sure the trip runs smoothly and offers local insight into the destinations visited:

Classic Vietnam Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City – Teenage Adventure: Experience bustling Hanoi, sail on a junk boat through Halong Bay, shop in romantic Hoi An, squeeze through the Cu Chi tunnels, sip Vietnamese iced coffee and people-watch in hectic Saigon. Priced from £649 per adult and £599 per youth. Minimum age 12 years.

Morocco Kasbahs and Desert – Teenage Adventure:Experience the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, try mint tea, learn some basic Arabic and wander the souk of Essaouira. Priced from £599 per adult and £549 per youth. Minimum age 12 years.
