If you’re a dad that works away a lot and misses your family how would you like to receive a loving message?
By voicemail, text, email, tweet, Facebook message? What about a big message carved out in the ground to look at?
Well, for one astronaut that has happened.
Terry Virts is currently Commander on board the International Space Station so his view of Earth is slightly different to that of his daughter Steph.
She has managed to send him a message embedded on Delamar Dry Lake in Nevada at a large enough scale it could be seen from 249 miles up.
It was part of a big PR stunt by Hyundai who used cars to write “Steph loves you!”.
The entire message covered over two square miles and eant a Guinness World Record for “largest tire track image”.
The bonus for Steph was that after watching the filming she received a video message from her dad saying thank you.
Cue tears and high-fives all around.
