Steps star Ian H Watkins has become a father to twin boys
The 39-year-old shared the news of their birth on Twitter, where he posted a black and white picture of the babies’ medical bands.
Writing underneath the picture, Ian, who is also known as ‘H’, said: “We are DADS! We are totally & utterly in love!”
H and his partner Craig Ryder, who have been together for around 9 years, became dads via a surrogate in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Their arrival of the children comes 4 years after the couple suffered a heartbreaking loss in 2012 when their first surrogate miscarried.
The Welsh singer and actor and his theatre director partner Craig announced that they were going to become dads in an animated video which they posted to YouTube in December.
The clip takes viewers on a journey of Ian and Craig’s relationship, showing some of their biggest moments to date, from jetting off on holiday together to moving into their first home.
“Together we’ve been on lots of adventures!”, the video explains, “But our biggest adventure is about to begin!”
It continues: “For a long time we have been wishing, and our wish is about to come true! We are going… to be dads!!!
“There’s more…..it’s twins!!”
The animation ends with a picture of their sonogram hanging over a fireplace before the words, “The Ryder-Watkins twins – arriving soon!” appear on the screen.
Also this week, McBusted singer Tom Fletcher released a timelapse video charting his wife Giovanna’s pregnancy with their second child.
The couple welcomed Buddy into the world on February 16th.
The video documents Giovanna’s second pregnancy and features a series of photos from the mum-to-be.
In it, Giovanna can be seen standing next to a cot with hubby Tom and two-year-old son Buzz, when her stomach starts to grow from a tiny bump.
At nine months, she disappears off-screen and returns with the new arrival.
The pair created a similar video to welcome the arrival of Buzz in 2014 and explained that they had to pay the same tribute to their second child.
