Timberlake still figuring out parenting

It seems parenting is not as easy as many people hope it will be, even for celebrity mums and dads

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have admitted that they are still figuring out “the parenting thing”.

The couple, who are parents to first child Silas, who is now six months old, were recently honoured at the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s Respect Awards.

On accepting the Inspiration Award, Justin said: “My beautiful wife and I are a couple of new parents. We’re not very good at it yet”.

Being a mother and father of a toddler means date nights can be few and far between, something Timberlake was quick to make a note of.

He said: “Thank you for allowing mommy and daddy to have a rare date night out together with other adults.”

He added: “Honey, look around, this is what adults look like! They do exist. They don’t smell like poopy diapers – some of you do”.

The 34-year-old singer and his American actress wife welcomed their son in April this year.

The couple have not yet made a public appearance with their son, but they have shared glimpses into their lives on social media.

On Father’s Day, Timberlake posted a picture on Instagram holding Silas, who was wearing an ‘I love Dad’ onesie.

Justin and Jessica dated on and off for five years before they married in Italy in October 2012.

Earlier this month, Timberlake officially became the youngest singer to be inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.
