REVIEW: A Tiny Bit Lucky: Tom Gates by Liz Pichon
The latest installment of Tom Gates madness is bang on target – as usual
If the hilarious Tom Gates hasn't yet crossed your kids' radar, it's time to put things right. Author-illustrator Liz Pichon's unique storytelling style has proved a huge hit with kids across the UK; she incorporates illustrations and doodles into the fabric of the story which makes them perfect for young readers who find the idea of pages and pages of text (as you mind find in a standard 'chapter' book) daunting.
Tom is an ordinary kid who's constantly at war with his hilarious Goth older sister Delia. There's a school inspection looming so Tom's teacher Mr Fullerman is being extra vigilant and Tom's band Dogzombies have an audition for the Band-Battle competition. As usual, Pichon delivers lorryloads of laughs as Tom blunders his way from one crisis to the next. Scholastic, age: 8+
