REVIEW: The Baking Life of Amelie Day by Vanessa Curtis

If your kids were dedicated fans of the Great British Bake Off, then this should come top of their reading menu...

Like lots of children, Amelie loves baking – everything from cupcakes and biscuits to bread and muffins – but she also has Cystic Fibrosis. Will that stop her from entering Teen Baker of the Year competition? This positive spin on serious childhood illness is a great inspiration to us all, and there are some excellent little recipes included that the kids will just  love to try out for themselves at home. So, a book that encourages kids to bake and shows that disabilities don't have to limit your experience. Big tick from us.

Curious Fox, out now. Age: 9+
