REVIEW: The Fabulous Four Fish Fingers by Jason Beresford

Finding books that kids find genuinely funny is always a big ask, so sometimes only a good old dose of hilarity will do

The Fabulous Four Fish Fingers

So what do you do when your kids have devoured Mr Gum and the David Walliams back catalogue, and they're desperate to try something new? Try this. Bel, Ruby and Morris are an ordinary bunch who just happen to get super powers after an encounter with a crisp-loving elf called Cyril. Step forward The Fabulous Four Fish Fingers: The Chimp, Nightingale, KangaRuby and Slug Boy. It's anarchic, it's daft and it's a clever parody of modern superheroes which the kids won't fail to find hilarious. What's more, these stories are also great fun to read to them at bedtime, and I guarantee they'll still be giggling when the lights go out.

Catnip, out now. Age: 7+
