TOPIC: NEED HELP

NEED HELP 4 weeks 1 day ago #110429

Has anybody had any experience whereby the ex has let their new partner control and stop contact with the child. Would love some advice and help on how courts/cafcass view this type of thing.

hi,

I have not had direct experience of an ex' partner doing this. I have been through courts and imagine that they would view it the same as one parent denying child contact to the other. Do you have a court order?

Defo a court order I believe. Only issue is the lag in getting a court order due to COVID but good luck. Despicable isnt it!!

Going through the court process now, but after reading so much online, just not sure how the court would view things, the ex partner is allowing her new partner to control the child's life, which also involves stopping any contact

your ex partner has parental responsibility like you. so she should not be letting her new partner stop you from seeing your child. it's down to her to encourage/allow contact. you can ask court for advice or order on getting her new partner to stop interfering with your child contact.
