Arrears and money grabbing ex!!! help 1 year 10 months ago #86743

In in need of some advice, i separated from my ex in 2003 and have been paying CSA either through them or at 1 point through my wages, they have always sent me a payment schedule and i have paid what was said. I got a letter last year stating that i owed £3400 worth of arrears, i called them to explain that i have always paid every month (never missed a payment) and to query where the arrears had come from. I was told i need to write in with my complaint and to provide evidence of payments, so i wrote to them in February 2017 with all my bank statements showing payments and also my payslips from when they deducted from my wages along with a request from when the arrears happened i.e dates etc. Its now September and i have now received another letter stating that i owe £3500 in arrears and that i still should pay for my daughter who as from last month stopped full time education and is in full time employment.
i currently pay £239.00 (£42.11 per week maintenance and the rest is arrears) but my ex wife still expects me to pay £239.00 even though i sont pay her maintenance anymore. i dont want to overpay in case they get it wrong and wont get it back from her!!! but i have split from my new wife and now have to pay her maintenance of £160 (mutual agreement) which they are aware of. How do i take the arrears complaint further? any advice would be grateful

son aged 7 (new ex-wife) pay her £160 per month mutual agreement (not through Child maintenance service)

I would speak to your local MP or CAB

I have several years experience supporting parents in family proceedings as a McKenzie Friend. I am, however, not a lawyer or barrister and my responses are based on my own opinions or experiences of the family court.

Have you tried the CSA complaints procedure? This will help www.gov.uk/child-maintenance/complaints-and-appeals
