I got a weird question and could not seem to get a proper answer on this.
So me an my ex divorced 2 years ago in a Asian country, 3 children eldest being 16.
We are permenant residents in UK but not citizens.
We both were away for almost two years back home to sort the divorce process out.
I am paying a certain amount of maintenance to all 3 kids under the law there.
Now we both are back in UK, living seperatly and after one year of arriving she has approached cms.
I still continue to pay the original amount asked by the court.
Do I pay maintenace then under two country laws.
Also cms has got my income figures much less from previous year as I was working part time.
Now I have a full time job, do I tell them about the or just let it be and let them sort it out themselves when the next review comes.
I need to call them to tell my situation before I begin to pay from next month.
That's one we haven't come across before - I would try to get legal advice from the country where the order was made, so see if that order can be set aside. It might also be worth contacting REMO for advice on this.
