TOPIC: Access to children

Access to children 3 weeks 3 days ago #101756

Hi

I'm currently going through a divorce and the maternal mother is throwing the "weekend a fortnight" visitation rights at me. She's also enabling me verbally to see the children in the evening when feasible to her.

I would like to see and let my two children aged 7 and 4 to see me more often.

I'll be keen to hear approaches from other dad's has had in relation to this so I could present to mediation.

Thanks in advance

Have you started court proceedings to discuss this yet? A verbal agreement is obviously worth more than the paper it is written on. You will be better off getting a court order which she will have to adhere to.

Thanks Ferfer. This is still early days with me.
We had a verbal conversation but nothing has been documented. I have now realised the feasibility of possibly getting more access and going straight to the mediator approach as she is still insisting on her terms.
I'm looking at how I can negotiate more access on credible facts so when it comes to mediation I'm prepared and win.

Hello. You'll get lots of great support here but wondered if this might help?

Thanks, my oldest (8 years old) has after school clubs that vary from term to term. That's an unknown quantity as the clubs vary and the days held. He attends a karate club that's within public transport (I don't drive) so researched into that.

My other son, 4 is disabled so he will have to come with us.
