It seems they base your payments on your earnings. I have had mine through recently, they do not discuss my out-goings, did not seem to care that I will be paying close to £400 a month which leaves me with next to nothing left, but this will go down if I ever eventually get over night stays. Once your child starts staying with you, your costs will come down.
Ive only had one miss call of them today , and also a letter has turned up , there basically asking for £240 a month? all ive had is one miss call today , can this even be right ? ive not spoke to no one about this ?
this will leave me hardly with anythink don't seem right ? stress this is causing
you can carry on with court as normal. CMS is separate from court process so looks like your stuck with it. if you think 12% is bad, they basically want 20% if you have 3 or more kids lol. like me.
read the CMS letter and give them a call. they must have checked your tax records of last year to get to that figure. let them know if your pension contributions are taken into account. check your payment plan., are you doing direct pay or collection payments to your ex?
in court try to secure overnight stays with your kids. that way your payments get reduced. you could try and get a 50/50 shared care agreement. then you don't pay any maintenance. i signed myself up to CMS right after court process.
are you paying into a pension? if so, tell CMS. do you have any other children living with you? tell them if you do. how much do you travel to see your child? if its long distance, you can claim for fuel. and other ways are what was mentioned above. court order, stating how many nights the children spend with you.
