I am getting frustrated at all the contradicting information online
For Scotland, I have found that payments stop in Aug when they are 16 and leave school OR when they are 20 and in full time education doing highers, or equivalent or anything below
What I am struggling with is, what is the equivalent?
Through my research it seems that higher education is anything at college level 3 or below, anything above that at college, and any university study is advanced education
my 17 yo kid has just finished a year of college and I just found out it was at level 6 so as far as i am concerned i have been overpaying for a year. on top of this, my kid is starting university in September so i stopped payments. And now of course the one who should not be named is moaning about money stopping
In relation to you overpaying, I believe that the onus is on you to keep on eye on what your child is doing and notify the CMS accordingly. Our ex's are never going to do so if it means payments would stop. You also cannot reclaim over payments due to this and just have to put it down to hopefully the money has supported your child in their life's journey.
