This could seem OTT of me to worry about this, so I wanted to get some opinions before thinking about taking any kind of action.
A couple of years ago, my daughter would try to lick me when I went to kiss her. She told me that her and mummy touch their tongues together sometimes when they kiss, I wasn't sure if this was right, but given I am a bit of an over-thinker, I assured myself it probably all innocent and cute and it would soon stop. I also made sure my daughter knew that it wasn't right to do that with anyone else.
Today, when I went to kiss my daughter, she tried to lick me. I, again, said we shouldn't lick people, but just kiss with our lips. She said 'but me and mummy do that'. She told me that no one else did that, but she is now five and at school. I am concerned not only that she might do this to friends at school or other family members, and that it's not a good thing to be teaching a child, but also that I don't know what is behind her mum doing this. It could be innocent (even so, I think my daughter is too old for now), but without going in to too much detail, given what I know about my ex and her obsessed and deviant sex life in the past, her claims of sexual assault from others before I knew her, and her sexual assault and harassment of me, I have reason for concern.
I would really like to know people's thoughts on this.
It does seem a bit odd to me, so your not alone in thinking that, but then I didn't even kiss my son on the lips, always on the cheek, and my niece and nephews I always did the same, but they were used to kissing on the lips, so would always try.
I guess it's how you were brought up and what you find normal, your normal and will be different than others.
Not sure what I would do in your shoes, only you know your ex and the possible reasons behind your thinking.
