I have been paying my ex for 10 years or more and increased payments regularly. She now wants more. My two daughters are 14 and 16. I help with clothes and shoes and general dad payments of pocket money and "treats".
My EX is now threatening me with CSA involvement. Would I be better off with them involved? Would they stop me more than she is currently being paid, can she demand more money?
My wife is not very happy with the situation and the money is tight in the house hold. Please someone help. I cant afford what she is demanding extra.

Try using the online CMS calculator and if it calculates a lesser payment then go via CMS.

If it is less Id even call them myself as it is then you who has opened the case so only you can request that it is closed.

Regards,

Dave

Thanks for prompt reply. I have checked and CSA is more than I pay at present, I cant afford what I pay at present. I will try to come to a compromise.

If you do pay through the CSA, you are not obliged to pay anything else at all.

You will be surprised how much you can afford when you start the payments with the CSA especially when you realize there is no further contributions required by you and what you pay is all that's required.

I can promise you one thing you cant put a price on taking the control back from your ex wife, as long as you have the arrangement you currently have with her she will always have a hold over you and a threat to make, CSA as much as i hate the amount i pay calmed the situation down and took the control away and put us back on a level playing field.

The only levy she will have on you will be your daughters and they are 14 & 16 so it will be difficult to turn them against you unlike my ex wife who uses our daughters as weapons.

hope it helps :)
