TOPIC: need some advice getting battered by demands!!!!

need some advice getting battered by demands!!!! 3 years 7 months ago #72376

This is the issue - 20 years ago I received a large bill fro the csa.
long story short over 20 years I ha e paid in excess of £60,000 maintenance, a lot of heart ache and ball ache, I ha e had my home, vehicles and my business put at risk, my bank account emptied, bailiffs every so often knocking at the door requesting between 5-10 grand at a time. I stopped paying cos I got really fed up and low. So recently I ended up in court they say I still owe about £27, 000 that's including interest at 9% a year, I thought I could talk to the judge, he said I owe the money and will pay it. They ha e given me 28 days to agree to payment or they will sell my house. My daughter is 24 now, I have never seen her - that was her mother's request. I have said she will get the money after I have gone, she is wrote in my will. I am over 60, the payment t plan is going to take another 30 years. Any advice would be nice, feel completely a lone.

I'm afraid I have little experience of this, hopefully someone else on the forum may.

I would say in the first instance - speak to your CAB and local MP, they should be able to help.

Good luck

I have several years experience supporting parents in family proceedings as a McKenzie Friend. I am, however, not a lawyer or barrister and my responses are based on my own opinions or experiences of the family court.

This sounds like a pre-2003 case. You definitely need to speak to someone like the Citizens Advice Bureau on this.
