So my wife seems to be making me something for Valentines  and the kids are now asking what am I going to do for mummy
Please give me some suggestions for things I do that are outside the norm of chocs and flowers. Please don't think me a skinflint either but i have a low low budget so romantic meal is out the question..
That said, I did once get the older two boys (7 & to do a meal for her.
They went on the Internet and found the recipes
Wrote up their own shopping lists
Walked around the supermarket with their own trolley, asking random staff for assistance finding stuff
They paid ...with my money
They laid the table
Prepared the meal (starter, main and dessert) and dished it up
They even created a menu for the table and decorated
Well chaps as i said £ is tight so i found her a breakfast bowl (sounds unromantic doesn't it) with hearts all over it. The card said the bowl was so she can think about how much i love her every morning!!!
Money's not especially tight with us, but I got my wife a small notepad with 'I love you' on it, and she got me some small chocolates with Edmond Monkton (I like his stuff) on the wrappers - we decided a couple of years ago that we really didn't like the commercialisation (going out for a meal on the day, paying twice the price and getting half the choice than any other day really irked) so decided that small (but though out) tokens meant just as much as extravagant gestures
