Hi I’m really just after some help and advice really.
I had my son last Friday to help my ex while she was having work done at her house. So my 5year old goes to football on a Saturday morning that’s where I took him and she was there to have him back off me.
Anyways he wasn’t very happy to only spend the one night at mine as I usually have him for 3 nights in a row every other weekend, So she told him to change his face or he would go back with me not her (using me as a punishment) she brought him to tears I stepped in told him to go enjoy himself and go have fun playing football... which he did.
But that set her off don’t undermime me he’s my son etc. so just between us I said fuck off and walked away.
At the end I said bye to my son and said you coming grab your stuff for mummy she said no he’s not so I went and got it as I took it back I gave my lad a hug said bye and she just went this contact is stopping your not seen him again so my reaction when my son was in the car was wtf why not? She said for kicking off and the police will be in touch.

All be it 2 days later I’ve had a phone call off the police telling me to stay away from her, her work and my son...

I really want to see my son I’m supposed to have him this weekend but I’ve not contact my ex

Hi there

It’s important that you take notice of the police, or else she will have an injunction out on you before you know it, which will make restablishing contact more difficult.

You could use a trusted family member to liaise with her about contact continuing, and to carry out any handovers, at least until things settle down.

As it stands at the moment, it would be difficult to start the process off with mediation, because of the police warning, the mediator might feel its not approriate. I would give a mediator a call and discuss this with them.

If she continues to refuse contact, your other alternative is court to apply for a Child Arrangements Order. You can either use a solicitor, or represent yourself, which is doable and far, far cheaper.

All the best

I may not be legally trained... but I have plenty of experience and common sense!

You could ask a solicitor to write to her and ask for contact to be reinstated forthwith or you will have no option than to apply to court.

I doubt a mediator would deem your situation suitable and you should be able to make a court application if necessary. You don't need a solicitor to do that.

I have deleted your post again. Just because you have blacked out the names, your screenshot is still very easily identified and could land you in hot water if this was ever found and shown to the court. They take confidentiality in these matters extremely seriously.

At this point, you can either (as I said previously) get a solicitors letter or contact a mediator to get the ball rolling on a court application.
