TOPIC: Does school have to tell me my daughter's gcse s ?

Does school have to tell me my daughter's gcse s ? 7 years 11 months ago #17053

Hi - I'm divorced and until recently spent holidays and weekends with my daughter. My ex-wife never tells me much about issues and recently has caused a rift between me and my daughter over school. I believe it is in my daughters best interests to stay at her academic school, but my wife without consulting me told my daughter she could go a local fe college. My question is this: does my daughters current school HAVE to tell me her goes results or can they withhold them.

Any advice would be much appreciated,

Jim

From my experience it seems the schools are happy to share information with separated parents you just need to ask them, they will normally get in touch with the resident parent to ensure that it's okay to first though so it may be worth letting her know ow first that you intend to ask.

Hi Jim - do you have parental responsibility? If you were married at the time your daughter was born, then you do have.

Assuming you have, then you have a right to be involved in educational decisions and I am certain that would included receiving reports of your daughter's results.
