Thanks Yoda!

Hopefully lol

We're giving them all Nan and Granddad/ Aunt and Uncle Christmas cards with a message from the bump, saying something like "see you in July"

I have several years experience supporting parents in family proceedings as a McKenzie Friend. I am, however, not a lawyer or barrister and my responses are based on my own opinions or experiences of the family court.

When my wife told me it was on the phone while I was at work. I can recall asking how that happened, and then coming around in the first aid room. That was probably the high point, after that it was pretty much downhill.

When I got home my wife asked me what I thought, in no uncertain terms I told her I wanted a natural birth. Her in the delivery room and me in the waiting room.

I can remember going out for the day with her to Margate. My main concern was I would end up being arrested for being a pervert, I swear she stopped at every toilet we came across. Though after a while I started to notice the same suspects as we smiled and nodded at each other sympathetically.

I can also remember being kicked out of bed, literally, seems three in the bed was too much for the unborn baby. I don't think I did very well as an expecting father. Labour was no improvement at all. I called the hospital to let them know her waters had broken.

'Are you sure'
'Yes, unless she has decided to wet herself in the middle of the front room'. That was after I rushed to get a towel for her to stand on as she was ruining the carpet. Again that was the high point, with everything else going down hill.

The wife got really upset with me. Having a Christmas Eve baby meant I only had one thing on my mind, who was going to cook my Christmas dinner!!

I am sure my wife has far more stories about how useless I was during this period.

As our daughter was not expected for another four weeks my wife wasn't prepared and asked me to get her some sanitary towels. No problem. I went to the chemist and explained my wife had just given birth and needed some sanitary towels. The women asked me if it was for a light flow, or heavy flow. I panicked as I did not have a clue, but decided the latter was safest bet and should stop her bleeding to death :) see not completely useless.

Probably a good thing we had a daughter, not sure what sort of role model I would have been for a boy.

Eh I was just really surprised, my gf was pretty mad at me lol because my mind was going through like a million thoughts like not expecting her to be pregnant, and then thinking that I know nothing about raising a baby and how were we gonna finish college and how are we gonna tell the parents, etc... So yeah I just kinda looked at her and said "are you sure?" And not a lot else just sat there looking surprised haha. So yeah now I am really excited about it, still pretty scared too though, still not wanting to tell the parents but probably have to by next month.
