I have had enough of my ex wife dictating when I have my daughter and what I can and can’t do. So I have begun legal steps to get so stability so we all can move on.
I forgot about my caution from 2007 for a stupid curb crawling incident. I was young and stupid and have never done anything like this before or since. Is this going to be a problem for me with cafcas?
No one knows about this (apart from you lot now) who will know about my caution?
Please help I’m not handling this well.
My daughter and I have a fantastic relationship and I can’t bare to be without her.
If you apply for mediation first where you and your ex can discuss this in a controlled environment, then great. If not, you will have to go to the courts to arrange a contact order. I am not 100% sure cafcass will do any checks unless your ex says you hit her or the kids etc.
They do police checks and criminal record checks, but I would imagine the fact you did what you did all those years ago will not been seen as a risk to the children? I have a previous conviction, nothing that bad, it is not violent, abusive, murder or rape, nothing like that, but cafcass wrote that my conviction raises no concerns to the childs wellfare and it did not state what the conviction was for.
try not to worry about the caution years ago. has your ex been reducing the time you spend with your kids? if thats happening, then i would say you definitely need to go to court. thats why i went. honesty is very important to court social workers. so if caution issue is raised, do not deny it. be honest during the whole process.
