After great advice previously, i thought id try with another little problem i have.
My contact with my Daughter (18months) is on a Wednesday afternoon 12-6 and alternate Friday and Saturdays 5pm -5pm. I feel as though i don't have the time to take her places like the zoo as everything like this is quite a distance away and as i don't drive it all relies on public transport,i don't have the time to return her in time and, and she is too young for cinemas and the likes.
Basically my question is does anyone have any advice on what i can do as i want her time with me to be fun and entertaining as i feel shes getting a bit bored of the usual swimming or local park. anyone in the Glasgow area know of anywhere i can take her that would be fun for her or even other stuff to help keep her entertained as i don't want to be classed as a "boring dad" and as i never had any experience with a father of my own or any dealings in entertaining young girls (i dont know what way to say that without it sounding just a little wrong LOL) i dont have much in my repertoire,
18 months is a tricky age to be fair, so it'll just be trial and error to see what she likes.
Do you have any local soft play areas you can try? Something that will be your time, and a place where she can play without getting hurt, interact with other kids around her age, and it get's you out of the house and gives you a chance to mingle too?
Then you could also try silly little things like making something and letting her decorate it? Even at that age she'd enjoy being creative and messy, granted it'll be a pain to clear up but its worth it to see the enjoyment
I don't know of any child that would get bored of going to the local park. my 18 month old daughter would be happy just going for a walk or out and about in her pushchair to the shops. but saying that I think female, any age = loves shopping. Just make each trip to the park different to the other. Feed the ducks one day, take a picnic the next and so on
