just thought I would like to mention that if any dads are in unpleasant court battles with an ex, and the ex is getting legal aid. if you know that she is not entitled to it, e.g. sitting on a big pile of savings and not disclosing income, then report it to the Legal Aid agency.
you should only take this approach when dealing with a hostile and toxic ex. and relationship is beyond repair, and if you suffered nasty abusive behaviour. I waited for final hearing to finish, then reported my ex. they have now revoked her legal aid certificate. All is fair in love and war lol. so now she will have to think twice before we ever end up in court in future. you have to see it as a game of chess.
Any reason why waiting until it's finished to report her? Surely, if you can get the certificate revoked during the proceedings, then she's going to have to fund any proceedings herself, in which case she can't mess you around, and potentially increase your costs.
good point. it was only when i was going into the 2nd hearing, that her solicitor sent a "Take Note" letter, which stated that she has now been granted legal aid. I certainly did TAKE NOTE final hearing was about 3 weeks later.
before the 1st hearing, her solicitor tried her best to be a nuisance, saying they want the 1st hearing adjourned, because legal aid hasnt been granted yet. that stressed me out a bit but thankfully no hearings were adjourned. I just wanted to get this all over and done with, then snitch later. Also Legal Aid agency work slowly. Told me it would take 12 weeks for full investigation.
