Long time no post guys! Most of you won't know me by now but I will do an update post shortly.

I'm after some advice for a friend, The guy split up from his ex a few years ago now and he has his child pretty much 70% of the time, When he has his child the child always was covered in bruises and telling how he had been abused by the other parent, SS are already involved so too the Police and the other parent has a history of drug abuse.

My friend decided to self rep and go for full custody of his child and the other parent got a solicitor who played the week court for fools and managed to get them agree to the other parent to openly take drugs when looking after the child.

At the directions hearing the court ordered for contact to stay the same meaning he has the child 70% of the time and the mother wasnt to take drugs 24 hours before she had the child. WTF?

Fast forward to this morning and he received an email from the other persons solicitor who said that because he allegedly told his child about the court case and the child wanted to kill himself that contact has been stopped until they can apply for a variation of the original order.

Obviously the solicitor is playing on the fact that my mate is self representing and a week court (its supposed to be moving to a better court)

What can my mate do? I remember I had to apply to the court for an emergency hearing when the ex didnt turn up with my daughter for contact but Im not sure if things have changed.

many thanks in advance

Slim :)

I'm no way trained in Family court matters so don't take my ramblings as gospel but I've been through the Court mill and learned so much along the way I just like passing my experience on to other Dads who face this absolute nightmare from hell, you might not be able to beat the system but don't let it beat you :)

If you have a court order then apply for enforcement . Solicitor has no more right than the next person to tell you contact is stopping because they say so

lol sounds like behaviour of a sore loser. tell that solicitor to stop being knob head, and that you will apply for enforcement of the order if contact is stopped. and say you will get a solicitor for next hearing.

can't add anything to the advise you've been given, but nice to hear from you again Mr Slim, although would prefer under better circumstances.
