So, the C100 has been filled out and the Mediators signed form attached, three printed and signed copies have been taken to the court yesterday.

We'll wait and see.

Good luck. I completed mine early June and Cafcass call is scheduled for 2 weeks time.

So, what happens when Cafcass get in touch? Why do you have a meeting with them?

I'm no expert and I haven't had my interview yet.

Caffcass stands for something like children and family court support and they are basically like social works who look into your case- look at your and your ex's criminal records (if any), social services records for the kids (if any)... and then they speak to you and your ex to discuss what the issues are (if any).

They type up a 1-2 page report for the court that the court normally follow.

It will be a telephone interview and you have to do this for your case. I haven't had my call yet but I imagine they ask things like what kind of contact are you looking for? and if there are any safety issues (like do you have any concerns for the kids with the mum)? Main thing is to not slag off your ex.

Hope that helps.

Typically how long does it take to reach the first step after sending my C100?

Who will I hear from first, will it be the court when they want the fee?

hi,

yes after you submit c100, court would ring you to take payment. or if you hear nothing, you can go into court and pay. then when they have set a date for a hearing, they will send you a letter in the post.

So I guess the court contacting me for the fee may indicated them beginning to process the paperwork, then after that it's the time it takes which may depend on how busy they are?

For me, they took about 8 working days to ring for payment. And then a further 2-3 weeks to receive the letter re hearing date (although mine doesn’t have a date yet as they’ve said Cafcass checks need to be done first). My interview date for cafcass (they emailed me) is a month from when I received the letter.

Your court might be quicker hopefully but that’s my experience.

Typically how long does this take for me to hear from the court after submitting a C100?

I handed the forms in on the 21st July and haven't heard a thing yet.
