First time poster here. I've recently found out that I have a got a girl pregnant that I have been seeing for a few weeks. We know each other but I wouldn't even class it as friends! I know that I do not want to have a romantic relationship with this girl however I do want to be there for the child (I think abortion is not an option!).
I'm not sure how I approach this and how this would work in the future. If anybody has any experience with this it would be a great help so that I can start to plan for my future!
Can you and she talk openly with one another and express your feelings to each other in an amicable way? Is she of the same mind as yourself?
If you are both feeling the same you could offer her support and tell her you want to be part of your childs' life.
It would be wonderful for the child and both of you if you could come to some harmonious agreement regarding contact with the child and to contributing financially.
Most people who have children have an amicable arrangement between themselves as to contact with the child and maintenance payments. Unfortunately some do not have this luxury and either one or the other party can become quite hostile towards the other. In such cases many end up in court to gain access to their child and pay maintenance through the C.M.S. There is a C.M.S. calculator you can use to give you an idea of the appropriate amount payable.
I sincerely hope all goes well for both of you! If any differences arise in the communications you have with each other, I hope you both are able to compromize as the most important person in all of this is the child.
