TOPIC: Peter Kay

Peter Kay 7 years 4 months ago #10749

Anyone else seen the new Peter Kay dvd - it was filmed at the O2 and I have to say it is absolutely hilarious - think I laughed from start to end and at times couldn't breathe for laughing.

There is minimal foul language or lewd comments and just shows that you don't need to be rude to be funny

If this isn't on you Xmas list then it should be

What other dvds would you recommend?

The Frozen Planet is out on dvd. I know it's still on TV, but it's been a great series. A little different to the Peter Kay dvd though!

Got the Peter Kay DVD in Tesco before they upped the price for the Christmas rush... Hilarious!

Got into a big debate with a couple of the lads at work as they don't see his observational humour as funny; being a northerner living in the south comes with it's cons lol.

I saw the Life DVD box set on offer and figured that was worth a punt, but 'her indoors' pulled rank so we got the Twighlight saga

I know exactly what you mean about being a northerner living in the south, its just a totally different sense of humour, aint it!

Out of interest, did you find Pheonix Nights funny?

And....am I the only one who doesnt find Only Fools & Horses remotely funny?

I'm one of those who just doesn't get Peter Kay. I'm a southerner raised by northerner, partly in the north and now living in the south - no chance of sorting that out. I found some of only fools funny, but it was more the occasional good bit, rather than the whole thing. Now black adder series 2 to 4, and Coupling series 1 to 3, and two and a half men with charlie sheen will have me laughing every time.

Well I was born in the north and raised in the South and i love Peter Kay and Only Fools and Horses.

Think you need to watch comedy from the start - otherwise it is hard to get into them.

I think the British are the best at writing and delivering great sitcoms although I loved Friends, Cheers and Frasier.

Think you might be right about watching them from the beginning; never got into Coupling, Cheers or Frasier... But then didn't see the first series of any of them.

I see your Blackadder and raise you Red Dwarf season 3

Daddy Donk: I see your Red Dwarf series 3 and raise you all the series of Gavin & Stacey, especially the episode where Nessa gave birth
