TOPIC: War pension

War pension 4 years 11 months ago #63179

I've just today received a letter from Norcross putting my disablement up to 30% this means I'm now in receipt of a war disablement pension.
Im in full time employment and currently paying CMS by direct pay which was calculated from my wages.

Question 1 is:- do my CMS payments go down to the £7.00 per week as it states on the CMS calculator on line?

I would speak to the CMS, but as I read it, if you are in receipt of war disablement pension, then you only pay the flat rate - it doesn't say that it's only if that's your only income. I wold certainly make sure that the CMS look very carefully.

Is yours a war pension for injury on active service or for disablement?

War Pension - You will be liable for the flat rate....about £5 or £7 whatever it is.
Disability Pension - The pension amount is not included in the CMS calculation as it is tax free. Im not sure about CSA rules but CMS is clear on this.

Dave
