Hi There,
.
I do have daays where I'm very tired, but I have to say that I have just gotten used to it these days as I struggle with sleep.
.
Hope you feel a bit more with it soon.

Everyone has off days, it's perfectly normal. Are you looking after yourself properly? It's even more important to do so when you have children.

I think it's down to sleep I do shift work and normally I work 3-11 then pick my son up at 9am the next day still means waking up early, without sounding selfish I find it so hard to wake up at 7.30am on my day off with 6 hours sleep,I feel so guilty because I love my son to pieces but somedays I just stay in my house with him all day and once I sit down my motivation to do anything with him slowley plummets.

Would it work if I done a outside activity straight away after picking him up to help motivate me,btw he's only 1 many people have told me once he's older the motivation will come as we will be able to do more

Is it normal to find parenting boring ?those with older kids to you enjoy it more ?

I can't speak for everyone, but I have a 2 and a half year old and I find more joy with every milestone we pass.

The more I have introduced and shared things I enjoy doing, the easier and more fun it has been.

It sounds like you're unsure of things to do with your son to keep you both busy, I presume he's walking so take him out to a park, go feed the ducks somewhere, nip to a soft play area with him, take him swimming or if youre indoors play fun learning games get a scalextric, trainset ect my daughter loved puzzles building blocks anything that made noise she loved.

Maybe go and see family see friends or meet up with friends who also have kids.

All the best

I'm no way trained in Family court matters so don't take my ramblings as gospel but I've been through the Court mill and learned so much along the way I just like passing my experience on to other Dads who face this absolute nightmare from hell, you might not be able to beat the system but don't let it beat you :)

Parenting is all encompassing....it can be joyous and tedious, challenging and rewarding, it's what you make it in my opinion, but I'm sure there are the odd times when all parents would rather be doing something else if they're honest!

Try and change your mindset, instead of telling yourself it's boring, try to think about all the things you enjoy about being a parent. Tiredness can be debillitating, but plenty of us manage on the minimum.

Any relationship can be boring (ie uneventful) at times, and that with your children is no different. But kids can also make you laugh with the simplest of statements or actions, and they can be frustrating, annoying ankle biters at times, but you'll look back on these times and laugh about it all :)
