TOPIC: Hello

Hello 1 year 2 months ago #92326

Hi. New member.
I have my CAFCASS telephone interview tomorrow at 1600hrs. Any advice on what to expect, what and what not to tell them, would be great.
I've not seen my children for nearly 4 months. Second court hearing is next Tuesday.
Cheers.

Hi,
we had ours last Wednesday. They were really polite and just ask you questions like have you been involved with police or and history of domestic violence. they will also ask you what sort of outcome you are looking for. Our call lasted about 35 minutes. Our hearing is tomorrow and Cafcass will be there to talk to us before the hearing as well.

I hope that helps?

Hi there and welcome

Just be yourself, answer their questions honestly and try not to bad mouth the mother (even though she may deserve it) speak from the children’s perspective and give answers that reflect your children’s best interests. Voice any concerns you have in a calm and measured way and take your time to think about your answers.
Speak a little about how close you are to your kids and a little about what you do together.

Theyre not interested in the blame game, they just need to be sure that any environment that the children are in is safe. Once they are happy that there are no safeguarding concerns, they will want to get contact between you all reestablished.

Best of luck

Thank you for that, I am really nervous. I don't know why because it isn't that's done wrong. My kids were taken, with force, from me after I refused to return them due to my own safeguarding issues. I had started the mediation process but after her court application for an immiediate return was denied, she made her own plans.
