keep a diary, if you aren't already - if she keeps cancelling contact, then you can go for enforcement - a court will see through this if it keeps happening.

Hi There,

I agree, keep a diary and if she is sending you messages to say you can't have contact copy that message exactly how it is written into the diary with the exact time and date you received it, copy every word and even include spelling mistakes or txt speak if there are any, these can be used as evidence then if needed, I would also include your replies in the diary.

Take screen shots of every measage between you to print of to use as proof if you have to apply for enforcement.

i personally gave my ex three chances to stick to contact order and then if she failed to on the third chance i applied for enforcement.

if she use the excuse that the child is ill multiple times within a short space of time then i would be asking for her to take child to doctors to see why child is always ill. You can apply for access to the childs medical records.

Good advice from the guys here. Remain civil in all your responses with her, don’t give her any reason to say you are difficult or unreasonable.

If it continues, write to her formally to remind her that she is breaching the order and that you will have no choice but to apply to have the order enforced if it continues.

All the best

Agree with all the above but especially reminding her that she is in breach of the order. Next time she cancels contact, ask for a replacement date.

I have several years experience supporting parents in family proceedings as a McKenzie Friend. I am, however, not a lawyer or barrister and my responses are based on my own opinions or experiences of the family court.
