My ex has stopped me from seeing my 15 month old daughter its been now over a month since seeing her and my 3½ step daughter .
I was the one who from the time my daughter come home from the hospital October 2017 until November 2018 got up every night for feeds then for no apparent reason whatsoever decided to end the relationship.
I got about 5 contacts between November and December but I have now not seen my baby all over the Christmas and New year . And i was advised to get a friend to act as a 3rd party but recently my ex blocked them to.
And with me not seeing my daughter it badly affected my mental health over the Christmas period but that was down to my ex emotionally abusing my mind.
I tried to send my ex emails as it was the only way to contact her and they were me only asking how my daughter was keeping and me asking her to stop the arguments.
But all that got me was arrested for harrasment for which I can not even go near my daughter when she is with her mum.
I have submitted the C100 form only just last Monday but a court date is a long way off.
What can I do to be able to get to see my daughter i feel so useless .
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds as though you haven't been to mediation - the court will ask you to do this first, so you are better off trying this first in any event to speed up the process. Take a look at www.nfm.org.uk

Generally speaking actd is right that mediation would need to be attempted first, but as you have been told to stay away from the mother, mediation isn't appropriate. Did you receive a formal police warning to stay away, or has it been ordered by the court?

Unfortunately, as she has blocked even third party communication between you, you are going to have to wait for the court to make the decision about contact resuming.

If you have a solicitor, you can ask them to write to her on your behalf and suggest either supervised or supported contact in a contact centre, whilst the court process moves forward.

All the best

I'm not a lawyer or barrister and my responses are based on my own opinions or experiences of the family court.

I may not be legally trained... but I have plenty of experience and common sense!

I wouldn’t worry about the mediation, you tried, all you can do now is to wait for the paperwork about your first hearing.

I know it's tough but as Mojo says, all you can do is wait for your hearing to be listed and hopefully the court will get her to agree to start contact.

It's worth having a look for a contact centre in your area and finding out prices and waiting lists in case that's all she will agree to in the beginning.

I have several years experience supporting parents in family proceedings as a McKenzie Friend. I am, however, not a lawyer or barrister and my responses are based on my own opinions or experiences of the family court.
