TOPIC: Ex wife moving with children

Ex wife moving with children 2 weeks 2 days ago #100436

my ex wife has moved (I believe it to be in the same area) I have shared care of 3 children, the youngest being 13 years old. Does she have to give me her new address?

hi,

is there a court order in place? if not, then she will do whatever she wants. you will need the address or some kind of contact, to be able to pick up/drop your kids. my ex refused to tell me where she was staying with kids. court order got it out of her.

Yes he has a 'statement of arrangement' 3 children twice a week, but she won't tell him where to pick up/drop off. She refuses to let him know. I though whilst the children were under 16 by law he has to know where they are living, but I'm not sure!

A statement of arrangement isn’t a court order and I don’t think its legally binding, was this agreed as part of the divorce proceedings?

He could try mediation to get her to agree to handovers.

DadTalk Moderator... I'm not legally trained and my responses are my own views based on my experiences of the family court. I have plenty of common sense and can offer you emotional support and guide you to answers.

Yes it was agreed when they split 9 years ago, I didn't know it wasn't legally binding !! The children have been told not to tell their Dad where they live!! Mediation is a good idea... thanks
