Is it me or is it the harder you work to better your self the worse it gets? I’m a dad to three beautiful children whom I love and adore I have them on weekends I pick them up and drop them home 140 miles all together help with school uniform trips and private theatre school. It’s breaking me paying 600 a month plus all those extras aswell as having a mortgage etc etc etc. I decided right I’ll do more hours to cover everything working from 4 am until 8pm week days which helped a lot, then to get a letter from the CMS saying I need to pay more and extra 200 per month so 800 in total plus the extras you do as a loving father. So now in order for it to change I need to earn 25% less in order for this increase not to happen ..... 80p I was out by 80p so because of 80p I now have to work those hours no matter what. How is this fair ????

Do you pay into a pension,? They deduct pension payments from income so it will take you below the threshold if you either start paying into one or increase the monthly payment into your plan

Personally, my solution to that problem was, work part time, live near the child, go to court and ask for a shared care order on the basis I'm only working part time, the child greatly benefits from our time together and there are no safeguarding concerns against it.

It hasn't been easy, but it does mean me and the child are super close, it's lovely.

good ideas. thanks. in my line of work its very hard to find part-time work. but guess you have to make sacrifices and compromises if you want to see more of your child, post break-up.
