TOPIC: Mothers always complain about money

Mothers always complain about money 4 weeks 1 day ago #101828

Just curious is anybody on the same boat long storey short I have a kid (age 5) and she also has another kid who's not mine but I have him 1 time per month and my natural kid every second weekend.

My ex always moans to me she's always buying everything like food shopping and everytime my kid is stood next to me she says "Ask daddy if you want toys he has more money than I do"
Don't seem fair because I don't live at the home and pay child support for my natural son so I should not be made to feel guilty because she won't even work 1 day per week and 1 of the kids are not mine and that means she spends more

hi dan,

this other child that your ex has. is she not claiming child maintenance for him/her?
you can tell your ex that if she wants to reduce the burden, she can let your child spend more nights with you. then you can reduce what maintenance you pay.

Hi there,

The dad to other kid is out of work and hasn't been bothered about contact for several years this this is where the shortfall is because I pay £70 pw which seems reasonable for 1 child if he other dad payed £70 pw for his kid she would proberly still struggle at times but no where near as bad

She has bipolar so extra nights would have her mind racing and wouldn't go down well

Basically she wants as much money as she can get away with without working and has always been bad with money for example she often Buys new trainers with flashing lights on when my son will have perfectly good trainers that do the job or spend on McDonalds/KFC often with the kids

I've noticed in recent years there have been benefit cuts putting more pressure on single mothers especially universal credit and like you say must now work 16 hours pw

I'm always happy to help but it's difficult because they always want more it's never enough
