I have found myself in a very distressing situation over my ex and child we met 5 years ago and decided that ivf was the only viable option to give M****** a child as she had ran out off eggs at 45 years old and it worked but her families involvement in our lives was extreme as was there hatred towards me really nasty comments and behaviour and M****** just could not stand up to them she was number 1 mum number two dad three baby h**** fourth and me last this led me to leaving her I was H****'s caregiver for 2 and a half years as M****** had a really good job on tuesday I was the best father in the world Wednesday when I left her I was the worst a week later I got a phone call from the police suggesting domestic violence and I was arrested and charged I was in court the next morning and obviously pledged not guilty I was released on bail for trial the sheriff said I could visit the house and pick H**** up and I should maintain a relationship with my child well in six months I have not seen my child my ex is using bail conditions as a excuse and has told my lawyer if I want to see h**** it's to be in a contact centre etc she hasn't told his nursery who his dad is she wont listen to the fact I perceive her sister is a threat to my childs welfare I tried explaining this to social services and the fact her sister was laughing at h**** eating dog food of the floor and they were just not intrested and I am feeling lost and hopeless that I will never see my child ever again he is genetically my child and I feel they have just stolen from me using the fabric of the law

Good morning,

Try not to think that you will never see your kid again, you may not see them soon, but you will see them. I had exactly the same thoughts as you, but you have to keep fighting her.

It is a shame to hear you have been charged for DV and I hope your case goes well for you.

I have several years experience supporting parents in family proceedings as a McKenzie Friend. I am, however, not a lawyer or barrister and my responses are based on my own opinions or experiences of the family court.

Might be worth looking at Families Need Fathers Scotland to see if there's any support groups in your area. They can be really helpful to attend.
