Hi everyone.. Does anyone know how to answer, a statement by breaking down the allegations paragraph by paragraph? My Barrister has asked me to get a solicitor to help me, but ringing around the costs are incredibly high, which I just can't afford. Basically my wife's statement is 3 pages long of lies. But I need to file a response of her statement for the next hearing. Any advice will be much appreciated.. Thank you for your time and help.

I would imagine it would have to be concise and to the point and with bullet points. For example, your ex has accused you of something you can prove is a lie, then say please see image 1.

Its not something i have done before, but I am sure you may be able to find somewhere which can give you free advice on completing this, maybe try Citizens advice or see if you can get any legal aid perhaps?

Hi as previous just respond to the allegations directly , is it a Scott schedule or witness statement she’s sent you ? Make sure you state the case number and the court the hearing is at . State the names of the respondent and applicant in the case . It’s standard to refer to evidence with your initials and a number of for me CD1 .. cd2 etc etc . So if your ex say for example you turned up at her house and started and argument and you can show you were away on a trip you can use the ticket or hotel booking etc as eveicne . At the end of the statement you have to end it with a statement of truth that says something like I certify the facts stated in this statement are true and then your name date and signature on it
