TOPIC: Kids self isolating with Mum

Kids self isolating with Mum 2 weeks 4 days ago #104974

Hi.

I'm a single Dad and I see my children on alternate weekends.
I had contact with them this weekend just gone and was told on Tuesday that one of my children has Covid 19 symptoms so they are all self isolating for 14 days. There are 7 people living in their house so that period of time could potentially increase.
I'm self isolating as well as a precaution following our contact.
Mum is quite controlling, won't let me ring them and controls any messages that are sent between me and one of my children who has a mobile. She also won't answer any questions, even when I'm asking how the kids are doing since they started self isolating.

There seems to be very little guidance regarding Covid19 for for single parents who's children live with the other parent.

Any advice would be appreciated.

To be honest, there isn't a great deal you can do in the next 14 days, so I would ride this period out and see if it reverts once this is over.

Mate I'm the other way round. I'm self isolating with my kids and my ex is a nutcase.

If your children are properly sick she will tell you. Most kids just have a cold if anything.

Stop sending her messages as when the situation eventually resolves if you do something else, she will do you for harrassment by going to the police, family court or if she, is a nutter, both.

Also don't expect to see your children regularly until at least September as this outbreak won't resolve.
