TOPIC: Help-Trying to get it right-help

Help-Trying to get it right-help 4 years 4 months ago #60030

Good evening,

This is my first time on anything like this, but I need help/advice and opinions.

Me and my oh have 2 children. Our girl Is 2yrs and my lil boy is 7month old.

I work in car sales and work 6days a week and get every 1 in 3weekends off. When it is my days off we do alsort a of family stuff and make the most of it.

My problem is my OH is starting to to resent me for how many hours I do. I am very good at my job and the pay is good. What she wants is for me to quit and get a Monday to Friday job(which I have no qui fixations for) it would also mean a massive pay cut.

Otherwise she says she will leave as I will miss the kids growing up and we will grow apart.

What do you think?

What can I do/say?

How about sticking with the car sales but look for another job in your trade with less hours failing that have a work with your boss and explain the situation and see if you can work out a better work/life balance.

I'm sure if you explain this is what you intend to do in the meantime to your wife it will show that you are taking her concerns seriously, failing that how about a career change you could maybe get another sort of sales job with a 9-5 as I'm sure you could transfer your skills to another job?

I'm no way trained in Family court matters so don't take my ramblings as gospel but I've been through the Court mill and learned so much along the way I just like passing my experience on to other Dads who face this absolute nightmare from hell, you might not be able to beat the system but don't let it beat you :)

You could try and get every other weekend off in for the time being too

You could talk to your boss and extend your time from Monday-Friday to complete the time that you should fill for Saturday, if that's possible.
