Luxury phone from Lamborghini costs $6,000

When money is no object and iPhones are just far too mainstream, you need a phone that will make you stand out from the crowd.

Enter Tonino Lamborghini, offshoot company of the famous luxury car brand, with its newly announced 88 Tauri smartphone.

The 88 Tauri is indubitably exclusive. Only 1,947 are going to be made and each of them will have a hefty $6,000 (£3,800) price tag.

So what do you get for your money? Well, as you might expect, a whole load of bling. The 88 Tauri is coated in leather and steel in a range of colours, so there’s no chance of your ridiculous extravagance going unnoticed when you whip it our for a quick selfie.

But, unlike some other luxury smartphones, this one actually has some decent insides to stack up against the competition.

A quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor powers Android 4.4, with a hefty 3GB RAM zipping things along. There’s a five-inch, 1080p screen, 64GB of storage and a 20-megapixel camera (with an eight-megapixel snapper on the front for those selfies). 

The 88 Tauri is set to go on sale at the end of December. Best get saving…
